יו"ר ועדת הסנאט לעניינים המשפטיים

אנו, אזרחי ישראל הח"מ, פונים אליך ולוועדה אתה עומד בראשה לעזרה. הבעלים של רשת פייסבוק, מר צוקרברג, שהינו אזרח ארה"ב, מתערב בסוגיות פוליטיות פנימיות במדינת ישראל, ומפר לא רק את התיקון הראשון לחוקת ארה"ב אך גם את העקרון הראשי של הדמוקרטיה – חופש הביטוי וחופש העתונות.

אנו מודעים להעדפות הפוליטות של מר צוקרברג. אך ההעדפות האלו לא נותנות לו זכות ליטול חופש הביטוי מכל האנשים עם השקפות פוליטיות שונות ממנו, ולא מצדיקות את מעשיו. ישראל, כמו ארה"ב, עומדת לפני בחירות כלליות. שלילת חופש הדיבור מהימין הינה מעשה בלתי מוסרי, מסוכנת והרסנית למדינתנו. הימין בישראל לא רק מייצג את ערכי הדמוקרטיה במדינה שהיא הדמוקרטיה היחידה במזרח התיכון, אך גם תומך בהמשך היחסים בין רה"מ נתניהו והנשיא טראמפ – יחסי האמון המועילים שתי המדינות.

החוקים הקיימים של רשת פייסבוק, שהוגדרו ע"י מר צוקרברג, מיושמים אך ורק נגד כל אלה שדעותיהם מנוגדות לדעותיו. ע"י השתקת מחנה הימין, מר צוקרברג מחזק את השמאל הרדיקלי שהוא הבעיה המרכזית במערכת הפוליטית הן בישראל הן בארה"ב, כפי שידוע לך. לראיה, אנו נשמח לספק הוכחות לקריאות לאלימות ולפעילות מעוררת סלידה אחרת של מתנגדי הימין בישראל אשר רשת הפייסבוק לא עשתה כלום ע"מ להגביל, להסיר ולאסור.

אנו מקווים שהוועדה שאתה עומד בראשה תנקוט בכל הצעדים האפשריים ע"מ למנוע בעתיד כל ההפרות של עקרונות הדמוקרטיה וחופש הביטוי ע"י מר צוקרברג.

  

Dear Senator Graham,

Chairman of the Committee on the Judiciary

We Israeli citizens, turn to you, and to your senate committee for help. The owner of Facebook, Mr. Mark Zuckerberg, a United States citizen, interferes with internal political issues of Israel and violates not only the first amendment of the United States Constitution but also the main principle of world democracy, freedom of speech and freedom of the press. 

We know Mr. Zuckerberg’s political priorities. But these priorities do not give him the right to take away the freedom of speech from those with opposite political views and does not justify his actions. The same like the United States, Israel is having an election coming up. Depriving the right wing of freedom of speech is absolutely immoral, dangerous and destructive for our country. The right wing not only represents the values of democracy in Israel who happens to be the only democracy in the Middle East but also supports the continuation of a productive and trustful relationship between Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and President Donald Trump. 

The existing rules on Facebook that were put in place by Mr. Zuckerberg, are exclusively applied one sided to those whose political views do not coincide with Mr. Zuckerburg’s. By silencing the right wing, Mr. Zuckerburg intensifies the influence of the radical left wing, who for Israel is a major problem as in the United States. The problem that is very well known to you. As proof, we can provide evidence of the violence and disgusting activity that Facebook does nothing to limit, remove or ban.

We hope your committee will take all possible steps to prevent further violation of principles of democracy and civil rights by Mr.Zukerberg.
