תקציר:

עד שנת תש"ס הר הבית היה פתוח ליהודים בשבתות.

מאז פתיחת ההר מחדש, בשנת תשס"ג, אישור הכניסה ליהודים בשבת בוטל.

אנחנו מבקשים מהגורמים האחראים להשיב את זכותנו הבסיסית לעלות להר בשבתות.

קצת יותר פרטים:

עד סוף שנת תש"ס (אוק' 2000) הר הבית היה פתוח ליהודים במשך שישה ימים בשבוע - שבת וראשון עד חמישי. ביום שישי הר הבית נסגר לכל מי שאינו מוסלמי, למרות שבזמן המנדט הבריטי ההר היה פתוח גם בימי שישי.

בערב ראש השנה תשס"א (29 בספטמבר 2000) עלה להר הבית ראש האופוזיציה דאז אריאל שרון ולמחרת פרצו מהומות שנודעו בשם "האינתיפאדה השנייה" או "אינתיפאדת אל אקצה".

הר הבית נסגר כליל לכל בני אנוש שאינם מוסלמים למשך כשלוש שנים.

בכ״א אב תשס״ג (19 אוגוסט 2003) בוצע בידי ערבים פיגוע תופת באוטובוס קו 2 בירושלים בדרכו לרחבת הכותל המערבי. בפיגוע נרצחו 23 יהודים הי"ד ו-130 נפצעו.

בעקבות הפיגוע החליט השר לביטחון פנים דאז, צחי הנגבי לפתוח שוב את הר הבית לכניסת יהודים.

אולם הוחלט לפתוח בשלב ראשון את ההר רק בימים ראשון עד חמישי ובשלב שני לפתוח את ההר גם בשבתות, שלב שטרם מומש במשך יותר מ-14 שנה.

בכ"ה בסיון תשע"ד (23 ביוני 2014) הוצגו בוועדת הפנים מסקנות ועדת המשנה לנושא עליית יהודים להר הבית, בראשות ח"כ דוד צור, אשר כללו בין היתר המלצה לפתיחת הר הבית ליהודים בשבתות.

יהודים רבים המתגוררים בירושלים או מתארחים בה, המעוניינים לעלות להר הבית בשבת כבעבר החליטו לפעול לתיקון העוול.

Summary:

Until the year 2000, the Temple Mount was open to Jews on Saturdays.

Since the reopening of the mountain in 2003, permission to enter the Jews on the Sabbath has been canceled.

We ask the responsible parties to restore our basic right to ascend the Mount on Shabbat.

More details:

Until the end of the year 2000, the Temple Mount was open to Jews for six days a week - Saturday and Sunday through Thursday - on Friday the Temple Mount was closed to all non-Muslims, although during the British Mandate the mountain was open on Fridays.

On the eve of Rosh Hashanah 5761 (September 29, 2000), opposition leader Ariel Sharon went up to the Temple Mount and the next day riots broke out, this is known as the Second Intifada or the Al-Aqsa Intifada.

From this time on the Temple Mount was completely closed to all non-Muslim human beings for about three years.

On August 19, 2003, Arabs carried out an attack on Jerusalem bus line 2 on the way to the Western Wall plaza. Twenty-three Jews were killed in the attack and 130 injured.

Following the attack, then-Minister of Public Security Tzachi Hanegbi decided to reopen the Temple Mount for Jewish entry.

But it was decided to open the mountain in the first stage only Sunday through Thursday and in the second stage to open the mountain on Saturdays, a stage that has not been realized for more than 14 years.

On June 23, 2014, the Interior Committee presented the conclusions of the subcommittee on Jewish ascent to the Temple Mount, headed by MK David Tzur, which included, inter alia, a recommendation to open the Temple Mount to Jews on Saturdays.

Many Jews living in or staying in Jerusalem who wish to go to the Temple Mount on Shabbat as in the past have decided to act to correct the injustice.
