עוצרים את הקמת מחנות הפליטים - הצטרפו למאבק!!!

 בעוד כשישה חודשים יקומו מחנות פליטים ל"מסתננים" מאפריקה. זו ההצעה בה דנה הממשלה השבוע.

 מחנה הפליטים או בשמו "מתקן כליאה פתוח" (ככל הנראה יהיה פתוח באופן חלקי) אמור לספק למבקשי המקלט את כל צריכהם בעודם ממתינים לאישור בהכרתם כפליטים. אך האם באמת כך פני הדברים? כיום אין מדיניות מוסדרת לגבי ההליכים בנושא. ממשלת ישראל, בהחלטתה להעביר הצעה זו אינה מקדמת אף לא בצעד אחד את המצב. המדינה מאשימה את מבקשי המקלט האשמות כוזבות בניהן העלאת אחוזי הפשיעה, אך מנגד השר לביטחון הפנים מציג נתונים הפוכים. זהו ניסיון לטייח את מה שלא נוח להציג. הקמת מתקן הכליאה מייצג מדיניות חשוכה שללא כל ספק תגרום להרעה בתנאים המחפירים של מבקשי המקלט בארץ. בל נשכח כי אנו מחוייבים באמנה הבינלאומית לשמש כמקלט לאלו הנמצאים בסכנת חיים. 85% מעוברי הגבול אכן בורחים ממציאות בלתי אפשרית וזקוקים למקלט. אוכלוסיה זו מבקשת עזרה, מדינת ישראל מחליטה לכלוא אותם, להגביל את חופש התנועה שלהם ובכך לפגוע בזכויות בסיסיות. מתקן הכליאה אינו פיתרון.

Stop the Establishment of Refugee Camps: Join the Struggle

In six months refugee camps will be established to settle “infiltrators” from Africa. The decision was made following a Knesset debate this week.

The refugee camp or as referred to by the legislation, the “open detention facility”, will be providing basic needs while individuals wait for their refugee status to go through. But is this really the intention behind it? The State of Israel has yet to promulgate a clear policy regarding the process of attaining refugee status.  In its decision to pass this legislation, the government will not be helping the situation in the least. The government is accusing the asylum seekers among other accusations, of raising crime rates. On the other hand- the Minister of Interior Security reveals opposite statistics. This contradiction, demonstrates a clear attempt by the government to hide information which is not convenient to reveal.

The establishment of the camps reflects a dangerous proposal that will undoubtedly lead to a deterioration of the already disgraceful conditions of asylum seekers in the country. Let us not forget the international conventions which convey us a legal obligation to give shelter to those fleeing persecution. 85% of those crossing the border are indeed fleeing from inconceivable realities and are in desperate need of shelter. This population is asking for help and as a response the State of Israel decides to detain them all, to limit their freedom of movement and as such to infringe upon their basic human rights. A detention facility is not the solution.
