הצלת מינהל קהילתי לב העיר

מכתב מהלב

 

לכבוד ראש עיריית ירושלים, מר ניר ברקת וחברי מועצת העיר,

 

לפני חצי שנה, הובלת מהלך של בחירות למינהל קהילתי לב העיר, מהלך אשר אנו מודים לך עליו. התגייסנו כקהילה כדי להפוך את המינהל לקהילתי באמת! והלכנו לבחור. לפני פחות מחודש, נציגינו הפכו רשמית לחברי הנהלת המינהל. לזה חיכינו שנים!  

 

התאכזבנו לגלות שרק מספר שבועות לאחר כניסת הנבחרים לתפקיד, המינהל נמצא על סף סגירה עקב גירעונות מהעבר, גירעונות אשר אין אנו התושבים אחראיים או אשמים בהם.

 

ירושלים כיום מרוויחה מהעבודה המאומצת שעשה המינהל הקהילתי בעשורים האחרונים על פרויקטים עירוניים ועל שירותים לתושבי האזור, סוחריו ומבקריו. עתה, משנקלע המינהל למשבר המאיים לסגרו, אנו מבקשים מהעירייה לתמוך בנו ולסייע למינהל לצאת מהמשבר.  

 

כבוד ראש העיר וחברי מועצת העיר: תכירו את האוכלוסייה המדהימה והמוכשרת בלב העיר. הקמנו גנים ובתי ספר, ישיבות ובתי כנסת, בתי עסק, מלכ"רים ומרכזי אומנות. בהנהלה החדשה נציגים חילונים, דתיים וחרדים המאמינים בחזון משותף לפריחה הדדית. במקום לפרק את המינהל, תשתפו איתנו פעולה כדי לממש את החזון.

 

איתכם, נשקם את המינהל הקהילתי ונוביל אותו לדרך ורוח חדשה בליבה של ירושלים.

Dear Mayor Barkat, and members of the Jerusalem City Council,

 

Six months ago, you spearheaded elections to nominate a new directorate for the Lev Hair Community Council, a process for which we are extremely grateful. We united as a community to ensure that our Council truly represents us, and went to vote. Less than a month ago, our representatives were finally nominated. We have waited for this for years!

 

We were disappointed to find out that just weeks after our representatives' nomination, Lev Ha'ir is on the verge of being shut down, due to debt from the past, a debt that we, the residents, are not responsible for creating.

 

Jerusalem today benefits from decades of hard work by Lev Ha'ir on municipal projects and services provided to residents, merchants and visitors. Now, with the threat of closure, we request your help in supporting us through the current crisis and placing Lev Ha'ir on a more sustainable path.

 

Mayor Barkat and members of City Council: Meet the incredible people who live in the heart of Jerusalem. We've started nurseries and schools, Yeshivot and Batei Knesset, businesses, NGOs, art studios and cultural centers. Our new directorate includes secular, religious and ultra-orthodox representatives, who, together with us, share a vision for coexistence and mutual benefit. Instead of breaking our community center apart, work with us in order to make this vision a reality.

 

With you, we will restore Lev Ha'ir and breathe life into the heart of Jerusalem.
