Dear High Commissioner:

We are Israeli citizens who wish the best for our country. We believe that it is essential to do our utmost to get the international community to act against the settlements policies of the Israeli government, in order to help bring an end to the  Israeli-Palestinian conflict which is fast deteriorating.

The settlements create a clear situation of apartheid, and generate consistent and severe violations of the human rights of the Palestinians. The UNSC decision 2334 calls upon the UN members to differentiate between Israel proper and the occupied territories controlled by Israel, which are beyond the borderline of June 4, 1967

The decision of the Human Rights Council to publish a list of companies that carry out business in the settlements is in line of decision 2334 and could lead to greater international pressure on those companies to cease their activities in the settlements and in other Israeli installations in the occupied territories.

As Israelis deeply concerned about our country’s future, we wish to support and encourage this initiative, and hope that the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights will be able to withstand and reject the pressures that will no doubt mount against the publication of this list, which we regard as “black list”

 אנו אזרחי מדינת ישראל הרוצים בטובתה של מדינתנו, מאמינים שאחת הדרכים החשובות ביותר לעצירת התדרדרות הסכסוך בין ישראל לפלסטין היא לרתום את הקהילה הבינלאומית להפעלת לחץ נגד מדיניות ההתנחלות בשטחים של ממשלת ישראל.

 ההתנחלויות יוצרות מציאות ברורה של אפרטהייד, וגורמות לפגיעות מתמשכות וחריפות בזכויות האדם של הפלסטינים. החלטה 2334 של מועצת הביטחון קוראת לחברות האו"ם להבחין בין ישראל ובין השטחים שמעבר לקוי ה 4 ביוני 1967.

החלטתה של מועצת זכויות האדם של האו"ם לפרסם רשימה של חברות שפועלות בהתנחלויות תואמת את החלטת מועצת הביטחון 2334 ועשויה להוביל להפעלת לחצים בינלאומיים נוספים על החברות הללו כדי שיפסיקו את פעילותן בהתנחלויות ובמתקנים אחרים של מדינת ישראל בשטחים שמעבר לקו הירוק.

כישראלים המודאגים באופן עמוק מעתידנו כמדינה, אנו מבקשים לחזק את ידיך ולתמוך במהלך הזה, וקוראים לנציבות זכויות האדם שלא להירתע מלחצים שללא ספק יופעלו נגד פרסום שמות החברות במה שאנו רואים כ"רשימה שחורה".
