הפסקת תעמולת בחירות בSMS

נראה שבבחירות האחרונות לרשויות המקומיות מספר הטלפון שלנו הפך למצרך הבסיסי ביותר של הפוליטיקאים, ואפליקציית ההודעות הפכה למגרש המשחקים שלהם ממש! כל דקה טלפון, סמס, ואפילו הודעות ווצאפ מהמועמדים. ואצלי זה היה עוד בשתי רשויות (אחת שגדלתי בה ואחת שאני גר בה עכשיו).

הבעיה היא שהם (הפוליטיקאים) לא רואים בזה אפילו בעיה! לפני שנה יצא דו"ח של ועדה בראשות נשיאת ביהמ"ש העליון לשעבר ביניש, עם רשימת חברים חשובים ומכובדים. הדו"ח, בן 157 עמודים (!) מדבר על כל השינויים שצריך לעשות בחוק תעמולת בחירות. דברים חשובים באמת, כמו הכנסת יותר שקיפות בתעמולה באינטרנט וברשתות החברתיות. אבל כל השינויים האלה שהדו"ח מדבר עליהם הם שינויים במרחב הציבורי - שידורי טלויזיה, רדיו, שלטי חוצות, אינטרנט. פה אנחנו מדברים על מספר הטלפון האישי שלנו, זה שאנחנו משתמשים בו כל יום והוא כולל בתוכו את הפרטים הכי אינטימיים של חיינו! דומה הדבר למישהו שנכנס אליך לסלון, בלי רשות, כדי לבצע תעמולת בחירות. וזה חייב להיפסק!

ואם נראה לכם שזה היה נורא, ושעכשיו הכל נגמר, תחשבו שוב! עוד שנה יש בחירות ארציות... הבחירות הנוכחיות הראו שהם יכולים לסחור במידע שלנו, להטריד אותנו בלי לדפוק חשבון ומה אתה כבר יכול לעשות? אתה חוסם מספר אחד, הוא צץ עם מספר אחר. רק תתארו מה הפוליטיקאים עם הכסף המשמעותי באמת יוכלו לעשות בשנה הבאה...

יש ניגוד אינטרסים מובהק בסיפור הזה. אותם אנשים שאנחנו צריכים שישנו את החוק ויכלילו מגבלות על דרכי התעמולה האלה, הם בדיוק אנשים שיש להם אינטרס להשאיר את המצב פרוץ כמו "המערב הפרוע".

אז, אני קורא לכם לחתום על העצומה הזו, כי רק על ידי מספרים משמעותיים אנחנו נראה להם שהם לא יכולים לקחת את המידע שלנו ולעשות בו כרצונם! רק כך הם יכבדו את הפרטיות ואת השפיות שלנו, ויפסיקו את הפריצות הזו אצלנו בסלון.

It seems that in the recent municipal elections, our phone number has become the politicians' most basic commodity, and the messaging app on our phones has become their playground! Every minute an automated phone call, a text message, and even WhatsApp messages from the candidates. And for me it was in two cities (the one I grew up in and one I live in now).

The problem is that they (the politicians) do not even consider it a problem! A year ago, a report was issued by a committee headed by former Supreme Court President Beinisch, including numerous important and respected members. The 157-page report speaks of all the changes that must be made in the election propaganda law. Important things, such as introducing more transparency in online and social media propaganda. But all the changes that the report speaks of are changes in the public sphere - television and radio broadcasts, billboards, internet and social. What we are talking about here is our personal phone number, the one we use every day and which includes the most intimate details of our lives! It's like someone walking into the living room of your house without permission and starts delivering a political speech. And it must stop!

And if you think this was bad, and that it's all over now, think again! Next year we have national elections ... The current elections showed politicians that they can trade in our information, harass us without any consequences, and what can you do? You block number one, the same candidate pops up with another number. Just imagine what the politicians with the real money will be able to do next year...

There is an inherent conflict of interest here. The same people we need to change the law and include restrictions on these types of methods are precisely those who have an interest in keeping the situation as "Wild West" and unregulated as possible.

So, I urge you to sign this petition, because only by significant numbers will we be able to show them that they can not take our information and do it as they please! This is the only way they will respect our privacy and sanity, and stop breaking into our living rooms.
