זיהומים בירקון- זה לא יעבור בשתיקה!

פארק הירקון הינו פנינת טבע בלב העיר, או לפחות כך היה. אולם, בשנים האחרונות נפגעת פנינת טבע זו עקב זיהומים קשים החוזרים ופוגעים בנהר עצמו ובכל המערך האקולוגי באיזור.  המים, שהיו שוקקי חיים ומלאים בדגים, צלופחים, שפמנונים, וצבים, נהרסו כליל, כולם כבר לא איתנו. והניזונים מהם בשרשרת המזון, כגון: הציפורים, הזוחלים, החרקים והיונקים - מושפעים אף הם. את ההשלכות האמיתיות נוכל להבין רק בעוד מספר שנים כשמשאב טבע נפלא זה יכחד כליל מן העולם.  

הזיהומים נובעים כתוצאה מהזרמת שפכים מאיזור דרום השרון בחסותם של משרד המים, אשר נתן את ההיתר להזרמה והמשרד להגנת הסביבה, אשר אינו דואג לאכיפה הולמת.

בינתיים, אנו, האזרחים, אשר מודעים לזיהום, בוחרים לשתוק ומסכנים את בריאותנו במודע: לדוג דגים שגופם מזוהם בכימיקלים, לשוט ואף לטבול במים המזוהמים, מסכנים את הכלבים שלנו ששוחים בזיהום ובכך מאפשרים למחלות להגיע עד לפתח ביתינו ואף לעבור את הסף.

למקבלי ההחלטות במדינתנו קיימים אינטרסים כלכליים ופוליטיים אל מול בעלי המפעלים המזהמים. אינטרסים אלה מונעים מהם לפקח על איכות הסביבה ולדאוג לבריאותם של האזרחים.

הגיע הזמן שנדאג לעצמנו ונשמיע קולנו במחאה !

Pollutions in yarkon park- losing urban nature

The Yarkon park is a magical piece of nature in the middle of the city, or at least- so it used to be. In the recent years this little piece of nature is suffering from severe pollutions that harm the river and the ecological dynamics around it. The water that used to be teeming with life and full of fish, eels, slurries and turtles were destroyed completely- none of the above are still among us. All the animals in the food chain that are feeding from those animals are affected too- birds, reptiles, insects and mammals. The true consequences will only be comprehended in a few years, when this wonderful natural resource will be completely extinct. The pollutions are caused by the south Sharon district Sewage flow that is sponsored by the water office that has given the permit, and the ministry of environmental protection- that is not preventing it. In the meanwhile, us- the civilians that are aware of the pollution, are choosing to stay silent and are consciously risking our health: Fishing fish filled with chemicals, sailing and briefly bathing in the contaminated river, letting our dogs swim in the water and by all these allowing illness reach our doorstep and even enter our homes. The decision-makers in our country have financial and political interests towards the owners of the polluting factories. These interests are preventing them from monitoring the environment and taking care of the citizen's health. It is time for us to take care for ourselves and start to protest!
