אנו, החתומים על עצומה זו, שמחנו להתבשר על הצעת החוק החדשה לביטול מילת ילודים באיסלנד. ברצוננו לחזק את ידיכם ולהביע תמיכה בחוק החדש.

מילת ילודים הנה ניתוח פלסטי לא הכרחי, הנעשה בניגוד לשבועת היפוקרטס ולזכויות האדם והקטין.הניתוח נעשה בתינוקות ובקטינים, טומן בחובו סכנות וסיבוכים. אפילו אם הניתוח נעשה ללא סיבוכים מאבד האדם את רוב קצות העצבים באיבר ואת היכולת לקיים יחסי מין בצורה שהטבע התכוון.

אי העברת החוק תהווה גם אפליה מגדרית מאחר ומילת נשים, ההליך המקביל בנשים, אסור בחוק ונושא עונש מהותי. אין להעניש אדם ולהפלותו בשל מינו הביולוגי.

ברור לכל כי רובם המוחלט של הגברים היה בוחר להימנע מהניתוח ומהפגיעה שהוא נושא עמו בהנתן בחירה חפשית. לכן הדרישה לקיים את הניתוח בתקופה בה האדם הוא חסר ישע ונתון לחסדי ההורים. העם האיסלנדי אמר את דברו. אי העברת החוק תהווה פגיעה בדמוקרטיה ופגיעה ברגשות העם האיסלנדי.אנו רוצים להבהיר שהלחץ שמופנה כלפיכם מארגוני רבנים ומממשלת ישראל מונע כולו משיקולים כלכליים של ממסד הרבנות. שכן, אותם רבנים וקרוביהם מתפרנסים מהפגיעה בתינוקות. זו עיקר דאגתם ואינם מייצגים אלא את עצמם.

ההגנה על חופש הדת משמשת אותם לכפייה דתית תוך כדי רמיסת זכות האדם על גופוכניעה לדרישותיהם רק תגרום להם לחתור ביתר שאת למניעת חוקים עתידיים להגנה על זכויות אדם ובעלי חיים באיסלנד ובמדינות נוספות.

אנו, יהודים, נוצרים, ומוסלמים, אתאיסטים ומאמינים, גברים ונשים, רווקים והורים, בחרנו לחתום על העצומה הזו.כדי ליידע אתכם, שבזכות החוק החדש אנחנו מרגישים רצויים באיסלנד אף יותר.אנחנו שואבים מכם השראה ורואים בכם תקווה לדורות הבאים

To the respectable members of Parliament of Iceland

We, the signatories of this petition, were pleased to be informed about the new law against male Infant circumcision in Iceland.

 We would like to strengthen you and express support for the new law.

Ritual infant circumcision is an unnecessary plastic surgery, which is carried out in contravention of the Hippocratic oath and against human and minors rights .

The surgery is done in babies and minors, carries risks and complications, and even if executed perfectly, the person loses most of the nerve endings in the penis, and the ability to experience sexual intercourse the way nature intended us to.

Failure to pass the law will also constitute gender discrimination since the female circumcision, the parallel procedure in women, is prohibited by law and carries substantial punishment. No one shall be punished or discriminated against because of their biological gender.

It is clear to all that the majority of men would choose to avoid the surgery and the harm it carries if given a choice, and therefore the requirement to conduct the operation at a time when the person is helpless and at the mercy of his parents.

The Icelandic people had their say. now the failure to pass the law would harm democracy and harm the feelings of the entire nation.

We want to make it clear that the pressure directed at you by rabbinical organizations and the government of Israel is entirely motivated by economic considerations of the rabbinate establishment. Since the same rabbis and their relatives make a living by harming the babies.

 This is their main concern and they represent none but themselves

The protection of religious freedom serves them as religious coercion while trampling on the human right to his body.

Subjugation to their demands will only cause them to strive to prevent future laws protecting human and animal rights in Iceland and other countries.

All of us: Jews, Christians, Muslims, atheists and believers, men and women, singles and parents, have chosen to sign this petition to inform you that thanks to the new law we feel more welcome in Iceland.

That we draw inspiration from you, and see in you hope for future generations

And as hope to a world based on moral rather than an unethical world.
