Petition to Ban-Ki Moon

We, the Undersigned, from all parts of the international community, call upon the Ban-Ki Moon, Secretary General of the United Nations, and its members to view it as their public duty:

 

1. To come out with a clear and unequivocal condemnation of:

 

• The supply of armaments for the Hamas terrorist organization in Gaza, whether by land or sea, given that Hamas is an internationally condemned terrorist organization harboring openly hostile intentions and a record of hostile actions against Israeli civilians and Israel, and at the same time the governing regime in the Gaza Strip.
• The activists aboard the flotilla who formed a coalition with the radical Turkish IHH which allegedly raises funds for the Hamas, in order to attempt to break Israel's naval blockade on the Gaza Strip, whose primary purpose is to prevent the smuggling of armaments and munitions into Gaza.

 

2. To express acknowledgement of:

 

• Israel's right to prevent armaments reaching terrorist organizations by sea, under Article 25 of the Convention on the Law of the Sea ;
• Israel's right to protect its citizens from rocket and missile attacks;

 

3. To commend:

 

• The proven fact that Israel allows tens of thousands of tons of humanitarian aid to be admitted to Gaza and that there is an abundance of provisions in Gaza, in contradistinction to the banner under which the flotilla sailed.
• The fact that Israel invited the flotilla to harbor in Ashdod port and transport for all humanitarian aid to Gaza, in a procedure that has been duly expedited in previous instances.

 

4. And therefore to come out with a clear and unequivocal condemnation of:

 

• The abuse of supposed humanitarian alliances and umbrellas by the participants of the flotilla, and particularly on the Turkish ship, where these self-styled peace activists are, in reality, self-declared opponents of Israel who express themselves in vitriolic and incendiary rhetoric. Furthermore, these armed radicals planned this flotilla as a manipulative ploy to create an international situation, and to incite towards hatred and violence against Israel around the world.
