אני פונה אליכם בלב כואב, דומע ושבור, בשם קהילת החיילים הבודדים ובשם משפחתו של הלוחם ג'וש בון ז״ל (Josh Boone), מספר אישי 8728842 – חייל בודד, לוחם, גיבור ישראל, שנפטר במהלך הלילה בנסיבות מצערות לאחר מאבק ממושך עם עצמו, ככל הנראה בעקבות פוסט־טראומה (PTSD) שנגרמה לו כתוצאה מהשירות הקרבי הממושך והאינטנסיבי שלו.

ג'וש נלחם מעל 700 ימי מילואים בחזית. לא ימים של שגרה – ימים של אש, סכנה, אובדן, פחד, הקרבה אינסופית.
הוא היה לוחם בגולני, שירת בכרמלי 21 בצנחנים, באלכסנדרוני, וביחידות נוספות במילואים. הוא נתן את כל כולו למדינה – בגוף, בנפש, בלב.

אבל ג'וש לא היה רק לוחם.
הוא היה עמוד תווך בקהילת החיילים הבודדים.
מאמן לפני גיוס, מלווה, תומך, מחזק, אח גדול.
מאות חיילים בודדים עברו דרכו, קיבלו ממנו כוח, תקווה, תחושת בית.
הוא היה שם בשביל כולם – גם כשאף אחד לא היה שם בשבילו.

הלילה איבדנו לוחם. איבדנו חבר. איבדנו נשמה גדולה.

כעת, לאחר לכתו, אנו נתקלים בקושי כואב נוסף – בעיית קבורה.

אנחנו מתחננים – אל תיתנו לגיבור הזה ללכת מאיתנו בלי הכבוד שמגיע לו.

הוא נפל אמנם לא מכדור – אלא ממלחמה קשה לא פחות.
מלחמה שקטה. פנימית. אכזרית.
מלחמה שרבים מהלוחמים שלנו מנהלים לבד.

ג'וש בון ז״ל הוא גיבור ישראל.
מגיע לו מקום בין גיבורי ישראל.

בבקשה, בשם הצדק, בשם הערכים, בשם האנושיות –
עזור לנו לאפשר את קבורתו בהר הרצל.

Subject: A Plea for Justice and Honor: Burying IDF Hero Josh Boone (ID 8728842) at Mount Herzl

To whom it may concern,

I am writing to you with a heavy and broken heart, on behalf of the Lone Soldier community and the family of Josh Boone (ID 8728842) - a lone soldier, a warrior, and a hero of Israel. Josh passed away last night under tragic circumstances after a long and exhausting internal struggle, following severe PTSD caused by his prolonged and intensive combat service.

Josh fought for the State of Israel for over 700 days of reserve duty. These were not routine days; they were days of fire, constant danger, loss, and immense sacrifice. He served in the Golani Brigade, in the Carmeli (21st) Brigade, in the Paratroopers, Alexandroni, and other elite reserve units. He gave everything to this country - his body, his soul, and his heart.

But Josh was more than just a soldier.
He was a pillar of the Lone Soldier community. A pre-military coach, a mentor, a brother, and a source of unwavering support. Hundreds of lone soldiers found strength, hope, and a sense of home through him. He was there for everyone - even when there was no one there for him.

Last night, we lost a warrior. We lost a friend. We lost a great soul.

Now, following his passing, we face an additional, painful obstacle - the struggle for a proper burial. His family, his brothers-in-arms, and the entire lone soldier community ask for only one thing: to grant Josh the final honor he deserves - to be buried at Mount Herzl, alongside Israel’s fallen heroes.

This is the very least we can do for someone who gave his all. For someone who fought until his very last drop of strength. For someone who remained on the battlefield even when his internal reserves ran dry.

The family pleads from the bottom of their hearts to bury him at Mount Herzl. We, the lone soldier community, make this request through our tears. We implore you - do not let this hero depart from us without the honor he earned.

He may not have fallen by a bullet, but he fell in a war that was no less grueling. A quiet, internal, and cruel war - a war that many of our soldiers are fighting alone.

Josh Boone of blessed memory is a hero of Israel. He deserves a place among the heroes of Israel.

Please, in the name of justice, values, and basic humanity - help us ensure his burial at Mount Herzl.
