מתנגדים להחרמת שיוך וזיהוי ישראלי בתחרויות איש ברזל

לתדהמתינו גילינו הבוקר כי באליפות העולם של איירונמן בניס הועלם הזיהוי הלאומי של המתחרים הישראלים (מוזמנים לבדוק בעצמכם באפליקציה - באייקונים של המתחרים אין דגל ישראל וזה הדגל היחיד שחסר).

מצורפת עצומה שמיועדת להנהלת איירונמן כדי להביע את מחאתנו וכדי לדרוש שינוי המעוות.

אנא הוסיפו בחתימכתם את מספר הפעמים המשוער שהשתתפתם בארועים של חברת איירונמן.

נקווה שהעצומה הזאת תהווה לחץ נגדי על המארגנים מול כל מיני לחצים של אויבינו ושאר אנטישמים בעולם.

 

Dear Sirs,

The undersigned represent hundreds of Israeli long-distance athletes who have proudly completed thousands of times in Ironman events worldwide. We take great pride in representing our country and in carrying the Israeli flag at international competitions. This pride has only deepened since the horrific events of October 7, 2023, as the flag has become an even more powerful symbol of resilience, unity, and identity for us and our families.
It has therefore been troubling to learn that during the Ironman World Championship in Nice, Israeli competitors were not displayed under their national flag, while flags were shown for other nations.
We respectfully request that this issue be corrected immediately and that Ironman make clear it will not be repeated in future events. Equal recognition of all athletes, regardless of nationality, is fundamental to the spirit of sport.
Israel is a small country, but our Ironman community is large, passionate, and deeply committed to the sport. We sincerely hope to continue participating in Ironman events with the same enthusiasm and pride as we always have. However, if Israeli athletes are not recognized equally, it will inevitably cause disappointment and could lead many in our community to reconsider future participation.
We trust Ironman will uphold the values of fairness and inclusivity by addressing this matter promptly.
