ישראלים מבקשים מהאיחוד האירופי להגביר את הלחץ על ישראל לסיום הכיבוש

אנו, אזרחי ואזרחיות ישראל, פונות אל מדינות האיחוד האירופי לפעול להגברת הלחץ הבינלאומי על ממשלת ישראל לכבד את החוק הבינלאומי וזכויות האדם בישראל ובשטחים הפלסטינים הכבושים.

בנובמבר השנה (2014), התפרסם מסמך המונה צעדים שונים שמדינות האיחוד האירופי שוקלת לנקוט בהם כנגד הפרות של החוק הבינלאומי בהתנחלויות הישראליות, וזאת כתוצאה מהתגברות מקרי האלימות הממסדית והגזענות בירושלים אליה אנו עדים בחודשים האחרונים. אלימות שעד כה גבתה את חייהם של 23 אנשים (13 פלסטינים ו10 ישראלים) בירושלים לבדה, כמו גם מאות פצועים. ההבנה של מדינות האיחוד האירופי כי מדובר בתוצאה של הקיבעון המדיני, של הרחבת ההתנחלויות והשליטה הישראלית בשטחים, הינה מבורכת, ואנו שמחים לראות כי האיחוד האירופי שוקל להשתמש באמצעים העומדים לרשותו להגברת הלחץ על מדינת ישראל לשנות את מדיניותה המפלה.

בימים אלו בהם האלימות הישראלית נמשכת, וזולגת מפעילות הצבא והמשטרה בשטחים ובמזרח ירושלים, כולל הריגתו של השר הפלסטיני זיאד אבו עין, אל קיצוניים ישראלים התוקפים ערבים ברחובות ירושלים, כולל שריפה של בית הספר הדו-לשוני בירושלים, אנו מבקשים מכם להוציא אל הפועל את הצעדים שהצעתם, ואף יותר מכן.

אנו קוראים לכם:

- לא רק לסמן מוצרים המיוצרים בהתנחלויות בניגוד לחוק הבינלאומי, אלא, כפי שאנו עושים בעצמנו, להחרים אותם.

- להגביל את כניסתם של מתנחלים אלימים למדינות האיחוד האירופי, ובראשם פוליטיקאים ישראלים המתגוררים עצמם בהתנחלויות בניגוד לחוק הבינלאומי, ומסיתים את הציבור לגזענות ואלימות.

- להתנות שיתוף פעולה כלכלי ואקדמי עם ישראל בכיבוד ויישום החוק הבינלאומי.

- להורות על חברות אירופאיות לפעול על פי החוק הבינלאומי, ולנקוט באמצעים חוקיים כנגד חברות אירופאיות הפועלות בישראל ובשטחים הפלסטינים הכבושים בניגוד לחוק הבינלאומי.

בזמנים קשים אלו, ולאחר תוצאות הבחירות בישראל אנו קוראים לכם לנקוט בכל האמצעים העומדים לרשותכם להבהיר לממשלת ישראל היוצאת, וזו שתבוא אחריה, כי הקהילה הבינלאומית לא תאפשר חסינות להפרות הישראליות של זכויות אדם והחוק הבינלאומי.

We, Israeli citizens, ask the countries of the European Union to increase international pressure on the Israeli government to uphold international law and respect human rights in Israel and the occupied Palestinian territories (oPt).

In November 2014, a document was published listing the potential steps EU countries are considering to counter the breaches of international law in Israeli settlements. This is a result of increased governmental violence and racism in Jerusalem witnessed since July 2014. This violence has so far taken the lives of 23 people (13 Palestinians and 10 Israelis) in Jerusalem alone, and hundreds more were wounded. This document is a testimony to the understanding in the EU that this violence comes as a result of the political impasse, continued settlement expansion, and Israeli control in the occupied Palestinian territories. We welcome this understanding and the willingness of the EU to use the means you have at your disposal to increase pressure on Israel to change its discriminating policies.

As the violence by our government continues, and spreads from the actions of Israeli forces in the occupied territories, including the killing of the Palestinian minister Ziad Abu Ein, to Israeli extremists attacking Palestinians on the streets of Jerusalem, to the burning of the bi-lingual school in Jerusalem, we implore you to execute suggested steps, and more.

We call on you to:

- Not only label settlement products produced in violation of international law, but as we do ourselves, to also boycott them.

- To restrict the entry of violent settlers to EU countries, with priority and attention on Israeli politicians living in settlements in violation of international law, and inciting the public to violence and racism.

- To condition any economic and academic cooperation with Israel with adherence to international law.

- To instruct European companies to respect international law, and to take legal measures against European companies operating in violation of international law in Israel and the occupied Palestinian territories.

In these difficult days of increased institutional violence, and the results of the Israeli elections, we urge you to take all measures at your disposal to send a clear message to the residing Israeli government, and the one to follow, that the international community will not allow impunity for Israeli violation of human rights and the international law.
