נלחמים על גינת הכלבים בגן סאקר!

עיריית ירושלים והעומד בראשה מר משה ליאון מקדמים, תחת אפם של התושבים, תוכנית להריסת גינת הכלבים בגן סאקר. 

בעלי הכלבים הירושלמים וכלל התושבים האכפתיים לא יתנו למהלך הזה לעבור!

הגינה פעילה למעלה משני עשורים ומשרתת אלפי תושבים מדי שבוע. 

אזור נחלאות ושאר השכונות הקרובות לגן סאקר הן השכונות העמוסות ביותר בכלבים. מה גם שתושבים מכל רחבי העיר מגיעים לגינה.

השימושים בגינה הן מרובים הן לכלבים עצמם: חברה, משחק ובריאות נפשית ופיזית. והן לבעלי הכלבים: מקום מפגש קהילתי, העצמה וחיזוק הקשר בין הכלבים לבעליהם, פעילות חינוכית לילדים ונוער אשר מביאים ומאלפים את הכלבים בגינה ועוד.

העירייה טוענת כי תקצה בעתיד אזור חלופי וקטן משמעותית לטובת הגינה ושבכוונתה להקים בשטח הגינה אנדרטה.

אנחנו דוחים מכל וכל את הרעיון הזה! 

ראשית, גן סאקר מלא בשטחים שיתאימו להקמת אנדרטה מדוע צריך להרוס פינת חמד שכבר קיימת לטובת אנדרטה?

שנית, שטח הגינה גדול ומאפשר לכל הכלבים להרגיש בנוח. הקצאה של שטח קטן יותר תפגע בכלבים ובבעלי הכלבים.

אנחנו דורשים את המשך הפעלת הגינה במתכונתה ובגודלה הנוכחיים. כמו-כן, אנחנו דורשים שציבור משתמשי הגינה ישותף בכל ההחלטות הנוגעות לגינה. 

גינת הכלבים והפעילות בה מהוות חלק ממרקם החיים באיזור וכל פגיעה במרקם זה היא פגיעה בעיר כולה. אנו תובעים מעיריית ירושלים לחדול מפעילות התכנון, למצוא פתרון אחר ולמנוע פגיעה כלשהיא בגינת הכלבים.

The Municipality of Jerusalem, led by Mr. Moshe Leon, without notifying residents, is moving forward with a plan to demolish the dog park in Gan Sacher

Dog owners and caring residents in Jerusalem will not let this happen!

The park has been functioning for over two decades and serves thousands of residents each week.

Nahlaot and the neighborhoods surrounding Sacher Gan are the neighborhoods with the largest population of dogs and dog owners in the city. Moreover, residents from all over the municipal area come with their dogs to this dog park.

The park serves many of the needs of the dogs themselves: socialization, and a large area to play which promotes both mental and physical health. For the dog owners: a communal meeting place, strengthening of the relationships between the dogs and their owners, educational activities for children and youth that bring and train dogs in the park and more.

The municipality says it will allocate an alternative area for the dog park, and in its place intends to erect a monument in the area of the existing park.

We reject this entirely!

Firstly, Gan Sacher is full of areas that will accommodate the establishment of a monument. Why destroy an existing beautiful area that is serving a purpose in order to build a monument?

Secondly, the area of the dog park is large and allows all dogs to feel comfortable. Allocating a smaller area will harm both the dogs and the dog owners.

We demand the continued operation of the dog park in its current format and size. In addition, we demand that the community that uses the dog park be involved in all decisions regarding the park.

The dog park and its activities form an essential part of the fabric of life in the area and any damage to this fabric damages the city as a whole. We demand that the Municipality of Jerusalem cease current planning activities, find another solution and refrain from causing any harm to the dog park.
