מעצבים תומכים בדמוקרטיה

אנו, החתומים מטה, מעצבים ישראלים - אנשי מקצוע, מרצים וסטודנטים - מצהירים על אמונתנו העמוקה בדמוקרטיה הישראלית כפי שנקבעה במגילת העצמאות.

כאזרחים אחראיים, התורמים תרומה קריטית מדי יום לחיוניות הכלכלית והתרבותית של ישראל, אנו מבינים את הצורך בשמירה על מערכת משפט שוויונית ועצמאית.

אנו מתנגדים נמרצות למתקפה הנוכחית על מערכת המשפט, ובמיוחד להתקפות על בית המשפט העליון, היועצים המשפטים, ובמיוחד להתקפות על נשיאת בית המשפט העליון והיועצת המשפטית לממשלה.

מעצבים ישראלים מחזיקים בעמדות פוליטיות שונות, המייצגות את כל הקשת הפוליטית. כמו כן אנחנו משקפים את כל קשת ההשקפות הדתיות והאמונה. רבים מאיתנו ממלאים את חובותינו האזרחיות באמצעות שירות בצבא ובמילואים ובשירות לאומי.

כדי לשמור על המרקם העדין של בלמים ואיזונים הנדרשים להגנה על המוסדות הדמוקרטיים, כל שינוי במערכת המשפט מצריך בחינה מעמיקה, תמיכה רחבה וקונצנזוס של קשת הדעות פוליטויות של החברה בישראל.

אנו קוראים לקואליציה למשוך את הצעות החקיקה הנוכחיות.

Designers support democracy

We, the undersigned, Israeli designers - professionals, lecturers and students - declare our deep-seated faith in Israeli democracy as determined in the Declaration of Independence.  In particular, as responsible citizens, making critical daily contributions to Israel's economic and cultural vitality, we understand the need for maintaining an equanimous and independent justice system.  We vigorously oppose the current attack on the justice system, and the attacks on the Supreme Court, the attorneys general, and particularly the attacks on the President of the Supreme Court and the Government Legal Counsel.Black flags wave over these statements.  Enough!    Israeli designers hold individual differing political stances, across the entire political spectrum. We also reflect the entire spectrum of religious outlooks and beliefs. Many of us fulfill our civic obligations via the Army, reserves and National Service.  So as to preserve the delicate balance of checks and balances required to protect democratic institutions, any change required in the justice system requires in-depth examination, broad support reflecting the entire spectrum and consensus.

We call on the Coalition to withdraw the current legislative proposals.
